George > Our first dive was on the USS Schurz, an 1894 German gunboat seized by the US in 1914. It sank on 21 June 1918 after colliding with the SS Florida. This sand perch, also call a sand seabass, was one of many inhabiting the wreck.
George > The water above the wreck was filled with small fish.
George > Lionfish abounded on the Schurz and the other wrecks.
George > A purple sea urchin on a piece of the Schurz's structure.
George > There were several amberjacks on the wrecks and maybe more tomtates than any other fish.
George > Adult tomtates.
