George > Most of the population (about 21,000 people) lives in Koror. Babeldaob, the big island, has the airport and capital but relatively few inhabitants. Peleliu and Angaur were sites of World War 2 battles. The length of the islands shown on this map is about 100 miles. The total land mass is about 2.5 times that of Washington, D.C.
